SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) -- Jordan Brown scored on a 2-yard run with 12:59 remaining Saturday and Bryant's defense clamped down the rest of the way for a 30-28 Northeast Conference victory over Wagner.

Brown's scoring run, his second of the game, marked the eighth lead change. Tom Alberti missed the extra-point attempt for the Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0), but the Seahawks (1-3, 1-2) were unable to score again.

Their last two drives ended with unsuccessful fourth-down plays. Matt Misley threw an incompletion on fourth-and-6 from the Wagner 48 on a drive that started at the Bryant 37. With 1:11 remaining, he was tackled at the Wagner 11 after a 1-yard gain on another fourth-and-6.

Misley entered the game in the third quarter after Wagner starting quarterback Nick Doscher was injured on a 32-yard third-quarter run. That 66-yard drive ended with a 5-yard Dominique Williams run that gave Wagner a 28-24 lead.
