Bryant (1-1) will play Sacred Heart (0-1) in the Northeast Conference football opener for both teams Friday night at 7 at Campus Field in Fairfield, Conn.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 27-16 victory over American International. Quarterback Mike Westerhaus earned NEC rookie of the week recognition for passing for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sacred Heart lost to Marist in its season-opener and was idle last week.

Last year, Bryant scored 18 points in the fourth quarter for a 25-24 victory over the Pioneers.

WOON (1240) and Cox 3 will provide live coverage of the game.

Bryant will play its Homecoming game Sept. 24 against Wagner.
