Former Bryant coach Max Good always used to say that the difference between a good Div. 2 team and Div. 1 is very, very slim. He's right.

A great example of that came Tuesday night at the Carrier Dome when D-2 Le Moyne, a small school that sits about five miles away from the Dome, came across town and shocked the Syracuse Orange, 82-79.

Syracuse played many of its newcomers most of the game but that is no excuse. Those new players are always among the most recruited in the nation.

No -- the talent disparity is HUGE. How many D2 players are lottery picks? How many go on to the NBA?

The talent disparity is very notable. Just because you're a 'Cuse alum, don't try to sugar coat it. Remember, this is the same Syracuse team ranked 25th in the nation.

Just ask Bryant what the transition to D1 was like last year. They didn't even crack to top 300...
