« Brown's Matt Mullery Candidate for Lowe's Senior Class award |

| PC offering $5 tickets this season »
Former Brown coach Craig Robinson has swooped into New Jersey and squired away one of that state's top prospects for his new program out at Oregon State. Robinson has gained a verbal commitment from Devon Collier, a 6-8 forward at St. Anthony's High in Jersey City, NJ. Collier's other finalists were Providence, Seton Hall and St. John's. Collier was PC's main focus on the recruiting trail over the last month. After returning from his official visit to Oregon State last month, Collier told the Zagsblog.com that he felt comfortable with Robinson. "[Robinson] is a cool person. He's fun to talk to. He has a good sense of humor. He's smart. It's not because he's the President's brother-in-law. He's a good person in general. The staff that's around him, they're good, too." After missing out on Collier, expect the Friars to sign three players in the early signing period next week. They are highly-rated guard Gerard Coleman of Boston, forward Ron Giplaye of Delaware and shooter Joseph Young of Houston.

No Surprise here. Par for the course. Mediocre program. Root like heck for them every year. But it is what it is. Wish the school would get serious about changing, but oh well.

Agree. This and the Carter-Williams choice shouldn't surprise anyone. Realistically, Young is the type of recruit that will be typical. One who flies under the radar with a couple of holes in his game. "Will he develop enough by the junior season" is what will be asked about the recruits.

really people - it's not that bad. i don't expect to routinely win recruiting battles with BE schools. Robinson's a good coach and it just worked with Collier. Carter Williams went to Syracuse...I mean, c'mon, it's not like he decided on Sacred Heart. PC needs to win more games, then those battles will tip. if ten years from now Keno is losing these, then complain. Until then...give it some time.

Why wouldn't you want to play for the President's Brother-In-Law?
