By Paul Kenyon The URI men's basketball team will receive more television time this winter than any other squad in school history. Thanks to its partnership with Cox Sports Television, the Rams will have 17 games televised, including 14 of their 16 Atlantic 10 contests. "Without a doubt, this is the best television package in the history of URI basketball," said head coach Jim Baron. "I am excited and happy that our loyal fans will be able to watch our team this year, home and away, on such a comprehensive level." Most games will be on Cox Sports Television, Channel 3, but the Rams also will be on NESN and ESPNU. The Dec. 13 game at Boston College will be on NESN, as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference television schedule, and the Jan. 2 contest against Oklahoma State at the Mohegan Sun Casino with be shown nationally on ESPNU. Tickets for Oklahoma State game, part of a doubleheader, go on sale Friday. The second game of the that doubleheader will pit Holy Cross against Central Connecticut. The first regular-season telecast will be the Providence College game, Dec. 5. The exhibition game against Rode Island College on Nov. 10 also is part of the package, as is the Dec. 10 matchup against Northeastern. Road games on Cox Sports will be Jan. 16 at Fordham; Jan. 23 at Xavier; Jan. 26 at Dayton; Feb. 13 at Temple; Feb. 17 at Saint Louis; Feb. 27 at St. Bonaventure; and March 6 at Massachusetts.
