MILFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Former University of Connecticut basketball player Robert Dulin has been sent back to prison after violating probation in his teen sex conviction.
Judge Eddie Rodriguez Jr. said Dulin must serve 90 days of the 51/2 year sentence he imposed Friday, with the balance served on probation.
The judge previously ruled that Dulin, of Milford, violated probation by punching a restaurant patron in September and refusing to submit to sex offender treatment.
Dulin had asked to be spared prison, saying he was coming to terms with an alcohol problem caused by depression after he couldn't find work following his April release from prison.
Dulin, who played at UConn from 1979 to 1981, served 18 months for having sex with a 17-year-old girl he coached in a summer basketball program.
