Rick Pitino has a clause in his contract with the University of Louisville that could threaten his job because of the revelations made this week.

The Louisville Courier-Journal Wednesday published Pitino's entire contract. It includes such facts as his salary being more than one million dollars a year, that he receives bonuses for how well his team performs, both on the court and in the class room, and that he receives a $3,000 a month car allowance.

The pertinent issue for this week, though, is the one involving reasons for termination. Section six of the contract is entitled ``Termination for Just Cause.''

It includes several sections that would allow the school to break the contract, including one that deals with violations of NCAA rules.

The clause that is key in this case is section 6.1.2 which reads termination would be allowed for ``disparging media publicity of a material nature that damages the good name and reputation of Employer or Univesity, if such publicity is caused by Employee's willful misconduct that could objectively be anticipated to bring Employee into public disrepute or scandal, or which tends to greatly offend the public, or any class thereof of the basis of indivious distinction.''

Is is it my imagination or are things very quiet on the Rick Pitino message board today? Any other time, and all the rabid PC fans would be licking their chops saying "we should get him to come back to PC!"
