The Providence College Friars have taken some hard hits in the first half, but they haven't led the game get out of hand tonight in Philadelphia. Villanova, which led by double-digits at times in the first half, now has a 40-34 lead at halftime.
Weyinmi Efejuku leads the Friars with 12 points, but he scored all of them in the first three minutes of action. Efejuku has missed his last four shots. Marshon Brooks has provided a boost off the bench with seven points; Scottie Reynolds leads the Wildcats with 10.
PC is struggling from 3-point range, having hit just 3 of 12 from long distance so far. Villanova is 6 for 14 from 3-point range, accounting for the difference on the scoreboard, but the Wildcats are shooting just 39 percent from the field overall.
