Thanks to Syracuse's overtime win at Marquette today, the Friars are now locked into the 8th seed for this week's Big East Tournament.
PC will play at noon on Wednesday against the winner of Cincinnati-DePaul. The Bearcats lost to the Friars twice this season and are coming into New York after losing three straight to end the season, at Syracuse, at South Florida and at home in overtime to Seton Hall today.
The PC-Cincy/DePaul winner is matched up against the number one seed in the Big East's quarterfinal round on Thursday. Louisville will be the number one seed if it wins at West Virginia tonight (9p.m. tip). If WVU springs the upset, Pittsburgh is the top seed.
The Friars have encountered major problems in the Big East tourney over the last decade. They own just one win in their last 10 games in the event.

Not a good draw for the Friars unless DePaul wins. Three W's against Cincy in the same year seems unlikely. Quarterfinal could be rough, too. Doubtful they'd beat Pitt again and Pitino will run hard on the Friars D. I hope I'm wrong because the Friars really need AT LEAST one more W to have any chance. A loss on Wednesday will equal NIT.

NIT here we come- Good try but no way do the friars win two in the tourney-- Oh how I would like to have the N'Easton and M-Quette games back. Nice try but no cigar!

The Friars can beat Cincy again. A better draw than having to play ND. Let's get "friared up" for the tourney! PC played Lousiville great for 30+ minutes. Let's hope they can play a Pitt or 40 minute game. See you in NY! Go Friars!
