Sanity in the midst of March Madness . . .
Remember how Memphis was miffed at having to settle for a second seed while three Big East teams were given top billing?
For most of this afternoon's game against 15th-seeded Cal-Northridge, the Tigers didn't look like even a two-seed, trailing by six points midway through the second half before finally pulling away to win, 81-70.
The man who saved Memphis from a major embarrassment was, surprisingly, Roburt Sallie, who averaged barely 4 points a game this season, but had an incredibly hot hand today, sinking 10 of 15 treys on his way to a career-high 35 points.
Sallie, to his credit, stepped up. As a team, the Tigers should have shut up about their seeding on Selection Sunday and made their case on their court, which they certainly didn't do this afternoon.
