With a game looming on Thursday night at Philadelphia against Villanova, it all may be meaningless, but Providence College's bid for an NCAA Tournament berth has picked up an endorsement from one of the country's more prominent "bracketologists" -- Joe Lunardi of ESPN. PC is now one of Lunardi's "Last Four Teams In" the Tournament, along with Penn State, Creighton and Arizona. Lunardi's mock tournament bracket has the Friars playing LSU in a first-round game in Boise, Idaho. Just outside the bubble, Lunardi has Florida (which lost yesterday at home to Tennessee), Michigan (a loser at Wisconsin yesterday), Minnesota and San Diego State. Despite his Atlantic 10 pedigree -- Lunardi is a broadcaster and assistant vice president for marketing communications at Saint Joseph's University -- Lunardi doesn't have URI as a factor for an at-large bid at this time. |
