I was reading the in-game thread from last night's URI-Dayton game, and parts of it gave me chills all over again. Here are some of the posts that went up in the final minute of the game -- as Jimmy Baron gave URI a lead with a 3-point shot, Dayton tied it with a 3-pointer of its own, and then Marquis Jones won the game for the Rams. I've put the events on the court in italics: Jimmy Baron hits a 3-pointer off Keith Cothran's miss to put the Rams ahead by a point CarolinaRamFan: 89-88, 1 min to play. Baron with a crazy three after a Keith miss and a great hustle by Sea. Sea has carried us this OT RhodeKill20: Jimmy...unreal
RIFan: PLEASE STOP THEM! westchesterram: Huge shot. Can we get a stop? Please?! Dayton misses badly; Baron recovers the loose ball, throws ahead to Cothran for two more points on a goal-tending call. URI leads 91-88. westchesterram: Got it, and....great pass by Jimmy. Up 3! Marcus Johnson ties the game with a 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining. There's silence on the board. Then Jones comes down the lane and wins it. RIFan: YES! YES! YES! RhodeKill20: OHHHH MYYY GOOOD!!!!!! AHHH!!! UNREAL! MARQUIIS!!!! NJRhodyFan: Are you kidding me!!!! Holy ---?!! RIFan: I always loved storming the court...enjoy kids. CarolinaRamFan: i don't know if we could've survived another OT. Jones certainly had me nervous, but kudos to him for having the balls to make that play at the end. big confidence booster. we have now won some close games, but we need to be able to close a damn game out!! i'll take it though, yeah baby!!!!
