| Projo SportsTalk -- Paul Kenyon on URI's surging confidence, and Duquesne »
Click the play button below to see and hear our latest edition of projo SportsTalk with Kevin McNamara. Kevin talks about where the Friars' victory against Pitt puts them now in terms of the NCAA Tournament, how dangerous Rutgers may or may not be on Sunday, and keys to the game in New Jersey. Here's what Kevin said about the Friars' March dreams: "They clearly had fallen off the national radar after the home loss to Notre Dame, a game that seemingly they needed to get. But i think what [the Pitt] game showed is that in the Big East, every game can be a perception changer. Because when you come out and beat number-one Pittsburgh, you're obviously back on the radar. And that's where Providence is right now, at 9-7 in the league, 17-11 overall, they obviously just have to keep winning. If they can go on the road and beat Rutgers on Sunday, that guarantees a 10-8 season in the Big East, which will be in the upper half and would most likely guarantee a bye in the Big East Tournament. Then they go to Villanova, which is a season-changing game. I think if they can win their next two regular-season games, they're in the NCAA Tournament. They obviously will not be favored at Villanova, so my guess is that they'll have to go to New York and win at least one game down there. ... And that will only get them right there; I wouldn't say they're a lock to get in at that point." CommentsLeave a comment |

P.C. must win at Rutgers. A loss to Rutgers would look so terrible on their record ,especially at this late stage of thr season, that even an upset of 'Nova and 1 win in the Big East wouldn't get them in. So "Let's Go Friars"
