At halftime, they led by one. Early in the second half they led by three. Providence College was in position to notch the signature Big East victory -- on the road, no less -- that has eluded the Friars all year.
And then the roof fell in.
Louisville erased a 53-50 deficit with a 13-0 run that put the Cardinals in control of the game, and Rick Pitino's team just kept on rolling from there. When it was over, PC was on the working end of a 94-76 blowout that dropped its record to 8-6 in the Big East.
I watched the first half on tv, and was impressed with the effort and results. But I flipped channels at halftime, and got into watching other, non-sports-related shows. I had no compulsion to watch the second half as I knew PC would get blown out.
