It's a shootout here at Savage Arena, which normally would mean good news for the high scoring URI basketball team. But not necessarily so tonight.
Toledo, which is averaging only 57 points per game, is running and gunning with the Rams and more than holding its own. Rhody leads, 45-40 at the break.
The Rams came out flying, making their first five field-goal attempts, three of them 3-pointers by Jimmy Baron. URI poured in 37 points in the first 11:10 and led 37-25. But Toledo, led by Tyrone Kent, was shooting well, too.
Once the Rockets figured out how to do a better job against the URI press, which gave them problems early on, they surged back. At one point Toledo was 14 for 20, that's 70 percent, from the field. Kent has 20 points as he has gone 8-for-11.
URI made only two of its last 14 shots after going up 12.
Baron has 14 points for URI, which went more than 14 minutes into the game before committing its firs tturnover.
