The new Atlantic 10 baasketball season opened today the same way the last one ended for the URI basketball team _ with a painful loss.
The Rams were beaten by Saint Joseph's 92-86 in triple overtime, the team's longest game since 1994. URI was down by 17 at the half and staged a great rally, finally pulling even at 64 at the end of regulation on two free throws by JImmy Baron with 36 seconds left.
It was 68-68 after one overtime and tied at 80 after two.
Ahmad Nivins had acareer day with 28 points and 20 rebounds for the Hawks. Jimmy Baron led four URI plaeyrs in double figures with 19.
The officiating stunk where do they find these officials they were so awful.
Great game and the Rams will do well this year.

I think coach Baron does a great job, but it's time to sit Marquis Jones down. too many darn turnovers and not enough assists
