It took URI a while to get going today in its game against La Salle, but once it did Rhode Island took control.
URI leads, 46-35 at the half in a very sloppy, and at times spectacular, game.
Rhode Island fell behind 8-0. The Rams did not score on their first nine possessions and missed their first eight shots.
But they ran off 11 straight points to get back in it. La Salle has been running with URI and that has benefitted the Rams. Kahiem Seawright and Lamonte Ulmer each have nine for URI.
URI is playing without Keith Cothran, who is missing his fourth game with a knee injury. Also, Jimmy Baron got hit below the left eye and had to miss some time.
La Salle has had 15 turnovers, about half off the URI press.
