The No. 9 ranked Georgetown Hoyas used a critical second half flurry to overtake Providence and grab a 82-75 win today. The Hoyastrailed by three at the half but scored 15 unanswered points and ripped off a 21-2 run that gave them a 15 point lead.
The Friars rallied late thanks to several 3-point shots and some careless Georgetown ballhandling against the press. PC cut it to 76-73 but couldn't get any closer. Weyinmi Efejuku missed a driving attempt with one minute left that could've cut the lead to one.
PC (11-5, 3-1) loses for the first time this season in Big East play. Georgetown improved to 11-3 and 2-2.
The star of the game was GT frosh Greg Monroe, one of the elite players in the country. Monroe nearly had a triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Marshon Brooks led the Friars with 18 points.

Hard to beat corrupt officials. How could anyone not see hammer job on McDermott, Brooks, etc. Who knows how game could have turned out if referees called fouls thet were obvious there.

Talk about the officials all you want but hit your layups. A recurring theme all season. Would have beat BC by 10 if they hit there layups. Same old story I'm afraid.

they likely would have been 4-0 if ref Bob Donato didn't manipulate the game with Georgetown with a series of bad calls against the Friars, all the while ignoring several fouls and travels against Georgetown. i've watched this ref manipulate the outcome of these games too many times. he needs to go. Donato didn't like that the Friars were up and all he had to do was make some bad calls and not make the appropriate calls against Georgetown to turn it around. I've been watching Bob Donato officiate for 6 years and can count on one hand the number of games PC has won when he officiates. he is as corrupt as they come and i can't believe he gets away with it. his conduct is so blatent the way he throws games. the teams should win or lose on their own without his sick manipulation. is he taking money to do this? it's all on tape. it's not credible to believe he is that incompentent. this guy knows just what he is doing
