ANAHEIM - It is 34-24 Charlotte at the half as the Friars' trip out West grows gloomier by the second.
This is downright ugly. Charlotte is quicker and more aggressive than the Friars and it could just be because they have better talent. The Friars certainly don't have anyone as good as RaShad Coleman who has scored 19 first half points.
The Friars' offensive woes are deep. They are shooting 31 percent and have made 2-of-7 threes. They're looking inside better and Randall Hanke and Jon Kale have scored hoops in the post but the guards are really struggling. Charlotte is also more aggressive to the boards with a 22-16 advantage.
Here's one moment that typifies the half. It's 34-24 and the Friars decide to hold the ball for one shot. Keno Davis screams out a play and the players all seem to know what they're doing. Sharaud Curry passes to an open Jeff Xavier on the wing and he fires up a long three that hits....nothing. An air ball. End of half. Some play.
