ANAHEIM - The Friars have just escaped with a stirring comeback win, 67-62, over Charlotte in the second round of the 76 Classic.
The Friars will now play St. Mary's and its All-American guard Patrick Mills at 5:30 on Sunday.
PC trailed 62-57 with just over three minutes left but some sticky defense led to Charlotte miscues and a 10-0 run that gave the Friars the win. Jon Kale, Weyinmi Efejuku and Marshon Brooks all had 12 points for PC. The Friars improved to 4-2 with the win while the 49ers fell to 1-5.
