PC to play Baylor on Thanksgiving

The Providence College men's basketball team will take on Baylor in the first round of the Anaheim Classic on Thanksgiving night. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN-2.

The Friars and the Bears are matched opposite Arizona State and Charlotte in the bracket for the eight-team event, which will be announced today. The other four teams playing in Anaheim: Cal State Fullerton, St. Mary's of California, Texas-El Paso and Wake Forest.

Baylor played in its first NCAA Tournament in 20 years last season and returns its top five scorers. PC also returns its starting five.


The Friars will play their second game of the tournanent Nov. 28 and wrap up the event Nov. 30. All three games will be played at the Anaheim Convention Center.

PC is still looking for one game to conclude its nonconference schedule. The schedule's other highlights include a trip to Boston College and a home date with the University of Rhode Island
