Reached at the Final Four in Atlanta, Providence College coach Tim Welsh said that he'd like to prevent falling short of bodies at practices next year. PC ended this season with 8-9 healthy scholarship players, not counting redshirts Randall Hanke and Jeff Xavier.
Towards that end, the Friars will definitely fill the one open scholarship they currently have for next year. PC will sign New York SF Jamine `Greedy' Peterson in the spring signing period and is also shopping for a bigger forward. Alex Kellogg, a 6-8 native of Columbus, OH and the son of CBS-TV's Clark Kellogg, is very interested in PC.
The Friars are also on 6-7 Georgia forward Jeremy Simmons. PC is also involved with one of Simmons' Tucket High teammates, 6-4 guard Marshon Brooks.
