The University of Rhode Island basketball team registered perhaps its wildest victory yet this season today when it outfought Fordham, 45-44, at the Rose Hill Gym.
Will Daniels had the game-winner, scoring from in the lane off a spinning drive with 28 seconds left, getting fouled on the play and making the free-throw, too. After a time out, Fordham had trouble finding a shot. Marcus Stout took it, a 3-pointer, with five seconds left. It was short and URI rebounded.
Rhode Island moves to 7-2 in Atlantic 10 play, 14-9 overall. Fordham loses its share of first place, dropping to 6-3 and 13-8 overall.
Why is it that rhody can not get respect especially if they finish in the top 4 in the A-10 this year with onyl one player graduating
