You know all those last-second losses that have piled up fro the Friars over the last two seasons? Tonight they got one back.
Down 70-62 with 1:42 left, the Friars looked dead and buried. Fans were leaving The Dunk, for God's sake.
But thanks to a head-shaking strong of errors by the Cincinnati Bearcats, the Friars escaped and won, 71-70. Sharaud Curry scored PC's final nine points, including a conventional 3-point play with 14 seconds left. The Bearcats had the ball for the game's final shot but John Williamson's lefty runner in the lane missed with one second left.
It added up to a great escape for the Friars who couldn't afford a home loss with games at Pittsburgh and Notre Dame up next.
